Sheera - the mere mention of the name brings sweet delicious memories. I learnt the perfect way to make prasadacha sheera from my MIL. I personally think she makes the best.
This is a common breakfast menu too in our house. Also an easier and common sweet prepared for poojas too.
Ingredients
Rava - 1 cup
Ghee - 1/4 cup
Sugar - 1& 1/4 cups...
Water & Milk combined - 2 1/2 to 3 cups
Elaichi powder
Banana - 2 cut in small pieces if elaichi then 1 if green than 1.
Dry fruits -Badam soaked 8 to 10.
Kismis - 8 to 10

Method
1) In a pan add half the ghee and rava and fry on low flame till smell comes from rava. See that the rava does not get burnt or too brown.
2) In a separate pan keep the milk and water to heat.
3) Once the milk has been hot, mix the rava , 2 cups of hot but not boiling water & milk mix and sugar and keep on flame. Keep stirring. Once this mix cooks add the remaining water slowly and ghee.
4) When nearly finished add elaichi powder , banana and mix the dry fruits and shut the pan and keep. Open only after some time.
Let it cool and absorb all the flavours before it served.
