This is an instant and yummy version of dhokla. When the yearning to have dhokla arises and you dont have the batter ready this is the best to make.
Ingredients
Besan - 1 cup
Sour curd - 1/2 cup.
Ginger chilli paste - 1 tbsp.
Tumeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt
Oil - 1 tsp .. & for putting on moulds.
Eno - 2 tsp
Water mixed with sugar to put on top of dhokla - 1/2 cup
Tadka of rai and hing with oil
Method
1) Mix besan, curd, salt, ginger-chilli paste, tumeric powder, oil and mix well.
2) Keep the steamer and moulds ready with applying oil.
3) Add eno and mix the batter well. Let it froth up.
4) Put in moulds or dhokla steamer and steam for 15-20 minutes.
5) Remove and put water mixed with sugar on this. It helps to keep it moist.
6) Put thadka of rai and hing and add coconut scrapped on top.
