Rava coconut ladoo

I always wanted to try a combination of coconut and rava. So this Diwali decided to try this option. It's simple and easy to prepare and delicious to eat. The dessicated coconut gives it a nice nutty flavour.

Ingredients

Fine rava - 1 cup
Sugar (powdered) - 3/4 cup
Dessicated coconut - 1/4 cup
Elaichi/cardamom pods - 7/8 ( i like more)
Ghee - 1/2 cup
Warm milk - 4-5 tbsp (to be used as required) Optional.
Cashew nuts - 10-12 broken into pieces.

Method

1) Dry roast the rava on low flame till it starts to give a fragrance. Keep it in a big bowl and let it cool.

2) Roast the coconut so as to get it just warm

3) Get the sugar and cardamom powdered and put in also with the rava. You can also run all together in the mixer for some time.

4) Roast the cashew in ghee and add to this mix.

5) Then warm part of the ghee and mix along with this mix. Stir properly and form a crumbly mix.

6) Now at this stage you can decide if you want to add more ghee or use milk to bind the mix.**

7) I used little more ghee ,then used milk to bind and form the ladoo.**

Enjoy eating..:)

**Notes : Using milk to bind the ladoo makes it slightly hard and reduces shelf life. Better is to bind with ghee. Keeps it soft and shiny texture.
