Moong dal with raw banana

My journey to catalogue dishes from my MILs kitchen. This is one of her jewels. It's a wholesome gravy to be had with rice. It is a simple and easy to make and delicious to eat.

Ingredients
Moong dal - 1 cup
Coconut - 3 tbsp
Raw banana - 1
Black pepper - 6
Green chillies - 2
Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup
Jeera - 1 tsp
Kadipatta - a sprig
Ghee - 1 tsp
Sugar - 1 tsp

Method
1) Soak moong dal for half hour and pressure cook for one whislte in PC. This is to get a soft consistency of dal. You can cook it out also.
2) Make a fine paste of coconut , coriander , green chillies, pepper, salt.
3) In a pan heat ghee add jeera and kadipatta. Add peeled raw banana. Fry for a few seconds.
4) Put in paste , cooked dal and bring to boil & cook.
5) If dal is to be cooked outside then at step 4 in tadka add dal and cook. When 3/4 th done add the banana and ground paste and cook till banana is done.
6) Add salt and sugar and adjust consistency of dal.
7) Serve hot with rice and papad.

*Can add more banana if you like a to make it complete meal.
