Chikki banana icecream

A simple old style icecream. This style my mom and aunts used to make before the advent and easy availability of icecream in the markets. 


Mix made and kept in ice trays were ready to cool us during summers. I for one love the crystalized ice taste better than the creamy icecreams available today. 


So here goes the simple old school recipe. 


Recipe is simple for Banana chikki icecream. 


Ingredients

Milk - Half litre

Malai /cream - One cup

Rose syrup - 2 tbsp

Thandai syrup - 2 tbsp

Chikki -3 squares

Banana - 2

Flower petals for decoration


Steps to be followed.


1)Boil half litre milk. Add rose syrup and thandai syrup. Let the milk cool. 

2)Add about one cup of malai with the milk and give it a whizz in the blender. 

3)Take three squares of dry fruit chikki and crush them in mortor&pestle. 

4)Add to the milk mix. Slice two banana and add both to mix milk. 

5)Keep this in freezer to set. 

6)When half set take it out and whizz it in the blender. 

7)Pour it all back and keep for full setting. 


8)Take out and enjoy once set.
