Sprouted moong rice

A simple recipe with addition of sprouts to add a lot of protein to your daily intake. This can be made as a one pot recipe or  also separately. 

First is to make the sprouted moong soak a cup overnight . Next morning remove the water and let it rest . Keep sprinkling a little water in between. By evening you should see the moong sprouting. You can keep it out a longer if you like long sprouts. 


Ingredients for the moong rice


Cooked rice -2 cups

Cooked moong - 1 cup (parboil don't mash)

Spices 

Red chilli powder

Tumeric powder

Ghee -1 tbsp

Tadka of 

Cumin seeds -1/2tsp

Cloves-2/3  

Asafoetida - a pinch

Salt to taste


Method

1) In a pan heat ghee add the tadka items and fry for a few seconds. Add the cooked moong and mix well with the ghee. 

2) Add the cooked rice along with the spices and salt. Mix well but lightly so that the rice is not mashed. 

3) Serve hot with curds.

A simple delicious mouthwatering recipe with no onion or garlic just the goodness of moong.
