Mandarin Orange lime granita

Granita is a semi-frozen dessert made from sugar, water and various flavorings. Granita is an Italian frozen dessert very similar to sorbet, except that it’s made by hand instead of in a machine. Because of this, the texture of granita is coarser and flakier — like eating snow! It’s briefly crunchy at the first spoonful and then melts deliciously in your mouth

Now for the recipe of this delicious dessert


Ingredients

Mandarin juice 2 cups

Orange juice 2 cups

Juice of 3 limes 

Ginger juice 1 tbsp

Powdered sugar 4 tbsp


Method

1)In a blender add all the above ingredients and mix well. 

2)Place in a freezer pan or flat metal oven pan or shallow plate. Keep the pan /plate in the freezer. 

3) Every hour remove and scrape the juice. Again let it set. Keep repeating this step till a nice layer of icy granules. It takes about 4 hours to get nice granules.

4) Serve as it or yogurt /dahi topped with granita. You can also serve it on top of some sweet juice. 

This will be tangy and sweet like orange juice mixed with gingerale.
