Doodhi kheer

This one is my favourite which my mom used to make. The well made one tastes like its been cooked for so long coz the doodhi(bottle gourd) forms a layer which tastes like malai.
 
Ingredients
 
Doodhi - 1/2 cup grated and squeezed of water
Milk - half litre
Sugar - 4 tsps
Cardomem powder - 1 tsp
Charoli - 1 tbsp
Kaju - 4/5
Ghee - 1tsp
 
Method
 
1) Peel , grate and squeeze the doodhi and keep it ready
2) In a pan add ghee and fry charoli , kaju and doodhi for 2 minutes.  Then add water and let it cook till water evaporates thats about 5 minutes.
3) Boil the milk and keep ready
4) Pour the boiled milk into the pan , add sugar and boil till millk reduces to half.
5) Finish with cardomem powder and switch off the gas
6) Preferably serve chilled..
