Potatoes are a my families comfort food. Before marriage I have potatoes as a separate dish but post marriage it has been part of every dish.

My MIL has gifted me a lot of recipes. A few of them are complex ,use a lot of ingredients.  Whereas a few are simple .. straight few ingredients. ..and easy to cook ...great to enjoy.

The one below is a simple comfort food.

Ingredients

Potatoes - 4
Onions - 4
Ginger - 2 " piece
Garlic -5/6 cloves
Red chillies powder -1 tsp
Prabhu sambar masala - 2 tsp
Tumeric powder - 1 tsp
Salt
Oil - 3 tbsp.

Method

1) Onions and potatoes diced in big cubes. Make a ginger-garlic paste and keep ready

2) In a pan add the onions ,ginger-garlic paste , prabhu sambar masala , red chilli powder , tumeric powder ,salt and oil. Mix well then put on stove top.

3) Let it cook on a slow flame. Once the onions are soft add the potatoes and little water and let it cook.

4) Cook this on a medium flame. Add little water at a time.

5) Once the potatoes cook and the oil is releasing from the sides,  the dish is ready to be served.

6) Serve hot with rice or chapati.
