This a simple kannadiga dish easy to make and super delicious to eat.
Ingredients
1 cup Rice Flour (i had shop bought basmati rice flour)
2-3 Green Chillies, finely chopped. this gives a nice spice hit
1 tsp jeera
1/4 cup Coconut, scraped
2 tbsp Oil
1/4 cup Coriander, chopped
2 Onions finely chopped
Salt to taste
Hot water to bind the atta.
Oil for frying
Method
There are two ways of doing this:
M 1) Mix everything except oil for frying and water. Add hot water to bind the atta.
Since rice flour is not glutinous warm water help to bind it. In normal or cold water the binding consistency may be difficult.
Pat on a plastic sheet and put on the pan , add little oil and cook.
M2) Knead the dough with just plain water and directly pat the Rotis on the tava.
Such rotis will turn out thin and crisp. However its needs practice.
When you directly spread on the tawa, make sure the tawa is cool after every roti You just hold the tawa upside down under running cool water. Then spread the roti and later keep it on flame.
Notes
1)This does not need to be very crispy
2) Can be had plain or with some gravy.
3) I preferred making it thin thought it tastes better than the thicker ones.
4) Be patient once you have put it on the pan, let it cook on one first before turning sides. Do it carefully or it will break.
