Drumsticks pickle /Shengyacha loncha

Wow the name sounded interesting when I heard it for the first time. Its kinda like an instant pickle with tanginess from tamarind and spiciness from red chillies.

The warm pickle with plain fully rice is a super combo for drumstick lovers. Try it and you will want to keep going back to it.

Ingredients
Drumsticks -3
Red chilli powder - 1&1/2 tsp
Tumeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Tamarind paste/pulp - 2 tbsp
Oil - 3-4 tbsp
Asefoetida/Hing - 1 tsp

Method.
1) Marinate the drumsticks for about half hour with all the above ingredients except oil.
2) In a broad based pan add oil , heat and put hing. Put the drumsticks and add little water. Let this cook on a slow flame.
3) It will take some time but keep it on low flame and keep checking in between and add water little by little. This has to form a thick gravy consistency not too watery not too dry.
4) Enjoy hot with rice. Can add ghee to rice for richer taste.
