Tava Pulav


This is one dish I think every Mumbaikar would love to eat. Its prepared so easily and is so delicious. Every pav bhaji vendor on the street has his speciality of making it and tastes yummy.

The following recipe is a perfect mix of one of my favorite dish.

Ingredients
Basmati rice - 1 cup (cooked & cooled)
Onion - 2 sliced long
Tomatoes - 3 (finely chopped)
Ginger - garlic paste - 1 tbsp
Jeera/ cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Capsicum -  1 (roughly chopped)
Potatoes - 1( boiled and cubed)
Peas - 1/2 cup (boiled)
Pav bhaji masala - 1 & 1/2 tbsp
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Tumeric powder - 1 tsp
Salt to taste.
Oil - 2-3 tsp
Coriander leaves to garnish

Method
1) In a board pan or tava add oil, jeera and onions. Fry for a minute and add ginger garlic paste. Fry all this well.
2) Add tomatoes and salt and let this cook well.
3) Put in capsicum and fry for a while.
4) Add in the spices , salt and mix well. Add water and let this cook for few minutes.
5) Add potatoes and peas, part of the coriander leaves, rice and mix it lightly so that it doesn't become a mash.
6) Let this cook on high for 2-3 minutes.
7) Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with Kachumbar/raita / koshimbir or plain dahi.
