Halwa always brings a yummy thought in our minds. Wanted to try this always so Guru Poornima seemed the best occasion. An wonderful Prasad for my guiding Guru.. Sai Baba.
Ingredients
1 cup besan
3 tbsp rava
3 tbsp ghee
1 cup raw sugar(less if your using normal sugar)
1&1/2 cup warm water
1 tsp cardamom powder
1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
A few cashews.
Method
1) In a pan add besan and dry roast it till the raw smell goes. This takes a good 10 minutes.
2) Add rava and ghee and continue roasting for another 5-7 minutes.
3) Pour warm water in parts and keep mixing so that lumps are not formed.
4) Add sugar, cardamom powder, cinnamon powder and mix well.
5) In one tsp ghee add the cashew fry till golden brown and add to the halwa.
6) Do naivedyam/offer to God and serve hot.
