Cabbage Thoran

A simple yet delicious salad type sabzi. A accompaniment to rice or chapati as you would like it or can be eaten even as it is or a with a bowl of curd.

Ingredients
Cabbage - 200 GM's
Chana dal - 1 tbsp
Udit dal - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Green chillies -2
Kadipatta - 2 sprigs
Oil - 1 tsp
Tumeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Water as needed
Salt as per taste

Method
1. Cut the cabbage and keep ready.
2. Soak the chana dal for 15-20 min and keep.
3. In a kadai add oil then mustard seeds . Once the mustard seeds splutters add the kadipatta and chillies. Then add udit dal and soaked chana dal. Let this cook with little water added.
4. Put in the cabbage along with tumeric powder, salt and let it cook. Can sprinkle water in between to prevent burning.
5. Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves ...with ghee rice or chapati or cooked millets
